A good place to measure your pulse is the artery on
the thumb-side of the wrist. Touch this area lightly
with the index finger of your opposite hand until you
feel your heartbeat. Count the amount of heartbeats
for 15 seconds and multiply by four - this will give
you your pulse rate.
Measure the pulse of other people in your
household. Try to answer some of these
questions: Does pulse vary with age? Does
it vary with time of day (morning, afternoon,
bedtime)? What happens to your pulse after you walk up stairs?
Do girls have lower, higher, or the same pulse rates than boys?
