Limits EMCBE

We can now introduce anew notation. For the function y =

(x + 6)(x− 2)
x + 6
, we can write:

xlim→− 6

(x + 6)(x− 2)
x + 6

=− 8.

This is read: the limit of(x+6)(x+6x−2)as x tends to− 6 is− 8.
