Changing Fractions to Higher Terms
The opposite of reducing fractions is changing fractions to higher terms.
To change a fraction to an equivalent fraction with a larger denominator,
divide the larger denominator by the smaller denominator and then multiply the
numerator of the fraction with the smaller denominator by the number obtained
to get the numerator of the fraction with the larger denominator.
EXAMPLE
Change^35 into an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 30.
SOLUTION
Divide 30 by 5 to get 6; then multiply 3 by 6 to get 18. Hence,
