Watermanagement

✔ Draw up a documented and dedicated
eco-friendly water management plan/policy.
This includes staff training and clear and
visible guest signages. A well-constructed
water policy costs nothing but scores
valuableeco-points!

✔ Wherever borehole water is available, have
it analysed to check if potable. If potable,
you could also install a water filtration and
purification system, such as a reverse
osmosis for guest consumption, as an
extra measure. This purification process is
definitely an option even for municipal water
to limit the use of commercial single-use
waterbottles.

✔ Supply filtered drinking water in rooms and
restaurant in refillable glass bottles. Refrain
fromusingsingle-usewaterbottles.

✔ Install low-flow shower heads and two-step
toiletflushing.

✔ Utilise collected rainwater and grey water
forgardenirrigation.

✔ Implement a garden watering schedule.
Water at night and plant non-water
dependentandindigenousplants.

✔ When planning lawns, use grass varieties
thathavelowwaterdependency.

✔ Install ball valve water supply to game water
holestoregulatewatersupply.

✔ Depending on the feasibility, convert a
standard swimming pool to an eco-pool. >>

Eco-status can be
improved painlessly
with relative ease
but still being
affordable.
