Located in the city of Portland, the Oregon
Zoo first opened its doors in 1888. It’
s home
to 2,697 individual animals,
representing 215
species or subspecies of birds, mammals,
reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
COVE CREATURES
Say hello to sea-dwellers over at
Steller Cove. This otter named Juno^
was found as an abandoned pup on
a California beach. Now he spends
his days waving to passersby!
CHOO CHOO THROUGH THE ZOO
All aboard! The Centennial Steam Train
is one of three trains that travel around
the zoo. Its most popular route takes
visitors through Elephant Lands, the
Family Farm and two tunnels.
