Smelly show
& tell!
During the last week of third grade, I
got special permission to bring in my
cat for a science presentation. I knew
my teacher was a cat person, so she’d
pay special attention to my kitten,
Max. And I was right! We were all
sitting in circle when Ms. Molina bent
down to grab Max for a snuggle. Max
picked that moment to let out a fart
... right in Ms. M’s face. I’m in
fourth grade now, and people
still talk about it! — Liam, FL
Rodent run
!
At my school’s field day last year, I
did the most embarrassing thing! My
class had just finished the potato sack
race. We were all sitting in a big gr
oup
waiting for the tug of war to begin
when, out of nowhere, I felt something
scurry across my feet. I jumped up
and shrieked, “Ahh, there’s a mouse!”
Everyone else jumped up, too. Then, a
boy from my class stopped everyone’s
freakout with, “Um, Ami, I think it was
a chipmunk. It’s right over
there now.” I wanted to run
and hide! — Ami, NJ
