Maradona celebrates
beating West Germany in
the 1986 World Cup final

Diego Maradona, regarded by
many as the greatest footballer of
all time, died yesterday only a few
weeks after his 60th birthday.
The playmaker, who almost
single-handedly won the 1986
World Cup for Argentina, led
them to the final again four years
later and was the national team
coach in South Africa in 2010.
Argentina was plunged into
mourning over one of the greatest
and most controversial sports stars
of all time. It was reported that
Maradona had suffered a fatal
heart attack at his home. He was
