3.8.3 System Network Reliability Implementation
To add reliability and optimize the SCADA system network
topology layout as mentioned previously,two methodswereused:Dual
Linksthat areused as a backup line, and Redundant Paths, in which the
following points weretaken into consideration:
- Each station has at least two links to other stations.
- Links lengths depend on cables lengths calculated previously.
- Building tree-ring network topology.
Figure 3. 11 illustrates reliability added in order to build a reliable
and robust topology, where white dots links represent dual links, and red
links represent redundant cables.
