really wish he wouldn’t, it’s weird) and your
energy supplier is rubbing its hands with glee.
What to do? If you’re not already on the smart
thermostat train, Tado’s newly revised model
could be your ticket to a reliably warm home
and, says the company, up to 31% off your
energy bill. So far so normal, but this totally
wireless solution doesn’t demand that you call
in the trades for installation: Tado reckons it’s
possible to hook it up yourself in under an hour.
Combine it with the company’s new Wireless
Temperature Sensors (£70) and you’ll be able
to monitor the heat of your whole home; fire up
the app and you’ll not just get pinpoint control
but an indication of your boiler’s health.

mean throwing gadgets at it – it means being
clever about the way those gadgets work.
Eufy’s wired video doorbell removes many of
its core functions from the domain of the cloud,
so if your cable happens to go slack it will keep
on keeping on. This means it on-boards tech
like on-camera human detection and, new to
this Pro version, continuous recording for up to
five days, with all footage stored in the camera
itself. The IP65 weatherproof unit uses a 4:
ratio 2K camera, so it can give you a detailed
look at the person at your door, and it’ll notify
you of any visitors with facial snapshots. It’s
happy to work with either Alexa or Google
Assistant and it’ll send its camera feed to the
