Tamron Announces 35-150mm
F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD Lens
If you’re interested in adding a fast, compact
portrait zoom to your camera bag, you should
consider checking out the Tamron 35-150mm
F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD (Model A043) for full-
frame Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras.

The lens has a maximum aperture range
of ƒ/2.8 at the wide-angle end to ƒ/4 at the
telephoto end, includes a nine-blade aperture
and is constructed with 19 glass elements in 14
groups. It also has a minimum object focusing
distance of 17.7 inches, across the zoom range,
and it includes built-in optical image stabilization

(which, according to the specs, provides five stops
of compensation). Tamron says the lens also has
silent autofocus, driven by an OSD (Optimized
Silent Drive) DC motor, which improves precision
and reduces drive noise significantly.
The lens measures 4.9 inches long and weighs
roughly 28 ounces. Tamron also notes that the lens
includes a protective fluorine coating “that has
excellent water- and oil-repellant qualities.”
The 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD will cost
$799. The Nikon F-mount lens became available
on May 23, and the Canon EF-mount lens was
available on June 20 for approximately $799 at
authorized Tamron USA retailers.
