Critical Thinking/Finding Together
The number of slices in the 1st giant pizza is a
prime number between 10 and 20. The number
of slices in the 2nd and 3rd giant pizzas together
is a multiple of 5. If the total number of slices is
32, how many slices are there in the 1st pizza?

You may have thought there was no mathematics
in pizza. Well, there is. It turns out there is mathe-
matics in plain cheese pizzas, sausage pizzas, pepper-
oni pizzas, pineapple pizzas, teriyaki pizzas, and
avocado pizzas, just to name a few. (Sometimes, it’s
just not good to take mathematics too seriously.)
