Factors, Multiples, and Divisibility

Factors are numbers that are
multiplied to find a product.

To find all the factors of a number,
use multiplication sentences.
Find all the factors of 20.

Factors of 20:

1 , 2 , 4 , 5 , 10 , 20

The multiples of a number are the products of that number
and any whole number.

Multiples of 3: 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24,...
Multiples of 6: 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48,...
Multiples of 8: 0, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64,...

A number is divisible by another number when you divide
and the remainder is zero.

List all the factors of each number.

Divisibility by 2
A number is divisible by
2 if its ones digit is
divisible by 2.
80 , 3 2 , 29 4 , 85 6 , and
1908 are divisible by 2.

Divisibility by 5
A number is divisible by 5
if its ones digit is 0 or 5.

60 , 22 5 , 40 0 , 124 0 , and
125,60 5 are divisible by 5.

Divisibility by 10
A number is divisible by
10 if its ones digit is 0.

40 , 28 0 , 50 0 , 207 0 , and
46,79 0 are divisible by 10.

All even numbers are divisible by 2.
