    bromine reacts with sodium iodide to produce sodium bromide and iodine.


Br 2 (ℓ) + 2NaI(aq) → 2NaBr(aq) + I 2 (aq)

The bromine is being reduced from 0 to −1. The iodine is being
oxidized from −1 to 0 while the oxidation state of the sodium isn’t
changing.
