- (T, T) The water molecule is polar because its molecular structure has the
more electronegative oxygen molecule at the one end and the two hydrogen
molecules 105° apart. This causes the oxygen end to be more negatively
charged than the hydrogen side of the molecule. The radius of the oxygen
atom is greater than that of a hydrogen atom, but that has nothing to do with
the polar nature of the water molecule.
