(A) A low-throughput society, also known as a low-waste society, focuses
on matter and energy efficiency through reusing and recycling, using
renewable resources at a rate no faster than can be replenished, reducing
unnecessary consumption, emphasizing pollution prevention rather than
waste reduction, and controlling population growth.
