  1. (D) Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a broad based ecological
    approach to agricultural pest control that integrates pesticides and herbicides
    into a management system incorporating a range of practices. In IPM, the
    purpose is to prevent infestation, to observe patterns of infestation when
    they occur, and to intervene (without poisons) when necessary.
