    through ingested fluids is approximately 1,200 ml/day, from ingested foods
    about 1,000 ml/day, and from aerobic respiration about 300 ml/day, totaling
    about 2,500 ml (about 0.5 gallons)/day. To make up for this deficit, the
    average requirement for drinking water per person per day is approximately
    0.5 gallons.
