2 OR MORE
LCM Hopscotch
A game designed to build the concept
of finding common multiples
Materials:
Q Two sets of 1–9 Numeral Cards
Q Pawn for each player
Q LCM Hopscotch Game Board
Q LCM Hopscotch Spinner, paper clip
Directions:
- Place pawns in the start position. Mix each set of numeral cards
and place face-down in two piles. - The fi rst player spins the spinner to fi nd out if he will have a
turn. For the fi rst move, if the spinner lands on “Common
multiples (not the least)” the player misses a turn. If the spinner
lands on “Least common multiple” the player chooses one
numeral card from each pile and fl ips them over. If the player
names the correct LCM, he moves the pawn to the fi rst space on
the Hopscotch game board. - The next player takes a turn.
- To make the second move on the Hopscotch board the player
has to spin “Common multiples (not the least).” To move to this
position, the player has to name two common multiples that are
not the least. - Players continue taking turns, naming common multiples, and
moving their pawns on the game board. - The winner is the fi rst player to reach the top of the Hopscotch
game board.
