Using Decimals

If you need to review decimals, complete Refresher I.

In order to solve word problems involving decimals, use the same strategies

that you used in Lesson 2.

EXAMPLE:If a lawnmower uses 0.6 of a gallon of gasoline per hour, how

many gallons of gasoline will be used if it takes 2.6 hours to cut a lawn?

SOLUTION:

GOAL: You are being asked to find the total number of gallons of gasoline

used.
