cinema. Is film meant
to be “an ideological
criticism of life through
a moral or political
lens” or a “way of
saying somethingworld of cinema it can
be used in relation to
a mega-budget smash
such as Titanic (1997),
or a straight-to-DVD
genre mash-up such
as Sharknado (2013).
So do any films deserve
the label? And what
must they do to become
“guilt-free” pleasures?
