Portrait of Britain Vol 3

£22.95, Hoxton Mini Press, hardback,
336 pages, ISBN: 978-1-910566-77-

The annual Portrait of Britain book is
one that I always look forward to, and
perhaps this year, turbulent as it has
been, it’s more important than ever.
Produced in collaboration with the
British Journal of Photography and
1854 Media, the rst two editions were fantastic
successes, showcasing our nation in all its weird
and wonderful glory.
We hardly need reminding that this year is
different, but if you’re worried this is going to be
a book lled with depressing and sad portraits,
you needn’t be. There is poignancy, yes, but there’s
also hope, resilience and that most powerful of
emotions – humour.
Highly recommended.
