In a partnership with Verizon, announced in
mid-November, Apple will now make it easier
for businesses to switch to the iPhone 12 range,
allowing organizations to take advantage of 5G
speeds and performance. The new program,
the first of its kind from Apple, is called Fleet
Swap and allows companies to trade in their
fleet of company smartphones, regardless of
their age, manufacturer, or current carrier, and
move over to the iPhone 12 with no upfront
cost. The idea is to make upgrading to iPhone 12
more accessible for firms of all shapes and sizes,
and help Apple shift more stock in one of the
company’s most challenging years.


As part of the new program, Verizon
announced its first two indoor 5G
ultrawideband services for enterprise
customers, with General Motors and Honeywell
enabling technology at their sites. General
Motors introduces ultrawideband 5G at its
Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, the
firm’s all-electric car plant. It demonstrates
that carriers are positioning ultra wideband
5G as an enterprise feature rather than the
lower-bandwidth 5G offered to consumers
outdoors, and gives larger corporations direct
