- Bring sufficient supplies like food and water, even for a short trip. Dehydration can
occur rapidly. - Have appropriate first aid available.
- Be sure to let others know where you are going, what you will be doing, and when you
will be returning. Be sure to take a map with you if you don’t know the area and you
may leave a copy of the map with someone at home. - Be sure you have access to emergency services and some way to communicate. Keep
