the mainstream. Identify three elements of this image that designate it a picture of
a “counterculture” to mainstream society in the 1960s.
Analyze: Explain in what ways the three elements you chose are countercultural.
Evaluate: How does the text in the upper right-hand corner shape the reader’s
interpretation of this image? Is the text sympathetic, critical, or a combination
