Rotolight goes to court
British LED lighting maker Rotolight has issued high court
proceedings against Vibesta B.V. and F&V Photographic Industry
B.V. for alleged infringement of its intellectual property. The
tussle is over similarities between the Peragos Disk light and
Rotolight’s NEO range. Rotolight says the Peragos light ‘infringes
internationally granted patents, trademarks and copyrights’.

Lowepro gets Active
A new range of outdoor backpacks, dubbed PhotoActive, has been
launched by Lowepro. Two sizes are available, BP 200 and BP 300,
in black/dark grey or blue/black. Both packs offer easy access to
your camera gear, and there is also a laptop compartment and
room for accessories. Pricing starts from £149.95 for the BP 200
and £174.95 for the BP 300. The Photo Active series will be

Alice in soccer-land
London-based South African
photographer Alice Mann
has won the £10,000 Adidas
Breaking Barriers photography
prize. Accompanied by a British
Journal of Photography writer,
she will delve into the world of
women’s soccer in London. She
says, ‘I am interested in the
human element of the story
and the communities that have
formed.’ Mann also won The
Taylor Wessing Photographic
Portrait Prize 2018 with her
series ‘Drummies’, which
included the image above.

Lomography art lens for full-frame mirrorless
Lomography has launched the Petzval 55mm f/1.7 MK II, the first
such Petzval art lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras (Sony E,
Canon RF and Nikon Z mounts). The lens includes a bokeh control
ring that offers seven levels-worth of adjustment. The entry-level
aluminium black model costs £349 and goes on sale in July; the
£399 brass varnish model and £499 brass black model go on sale
