If you do take the Writing test, you will receive an additional score: your Writing subscore, which will
range from 2–12. This score is not factored into the composite, so taking the Writing test will not have a
direct impact on your composite score. Be sure to check ACT’s website to determine whether your target
schools want you to take the ACT Writing test.
