Seven star-like motes of light appear a nd o rbit your
head until the s pell ends. You can use a bonus actio n to
send one of the motes streaking toward one creature
o r object within 120 feet of you. When you do so, make
a ra nged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 4dl2
radiant damage. Whethe r you hit or m iss, the mote is ex-
pended. T he spell e nds early if you expe nd t he last mote.
If you have four or more mo tes remaining, they s hed
bright light in a 30 -foot rad iu s and dim lig ht for a n addi-
t ional 3 0 feet. If you have one to three motes re ma ining,
they s he d dim light in a 30 - foot radius.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this s pell using a
s pell s lo t of 8th level or higher, the numbe r of mo tes c re-
ated inc reases by two for each s lot level above 7th.

Threads of dark power leap from your fingers to pierce
u p to five Small or Medium corpses you can see within
range. Each corpse immedia tely stands up and becomes
undead. You decide whether it is a zombie or a skeleton
(the st ati s tics for zombies and s ke letons are in the Mon-
OllNSE MACllBRE
s ter Manual), and it gains a bonus to its attack and dam-
age rolls equal to your spellcasting abili ty modifier.
You can use a bonus action to mentally command the
creatures you make with t his spell, issuing the same
command to all of the m. To receive the command,
a creature must be within 60 feet of you. You decide
what action the creatures will take a nd where they wiU
move during thei r next turn, or you can issue a general
command , s uch as to guard a chambe r or passageway
agains t your foes. If you issue no commands, the crea-
tures d o nothing except defend the mselves against
hostile creatures. Once g iven an o rde r, the creatures
continue to follow it until their task is complete.
The creatures a re unde r your contro l until the spell
e nds, after which t hey become inanimate once more.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a
spell s lot of 6th level or higher, you a nimate up to two
additiona l corpses for each s lot level above 5th.
