You summon a spirit tha t assumes the form of a loyal,
majestic mo unt. Appearing in a n unoccupie d s pace
within ra nge, the spirit ta kes on a form you choose: a
griffon, a pega s us, a pe ryton , a dire wolf, a rhinoceros,
or a sabe r-toothe d tiger. The creature has the statistics
provide d in the M on s te r Manual for the chosen form,
though it is a celestial, a fey, or a fiend (your cho ice)
instead of its norma l c re a ture type. Addition ally, if it
bas an Inte llige nce score o f 5 or l ower, its Inte lligence
becomes 6, and it gains the ability to unders tand one
la ng uage of your c ho ice tha t you speak.
You control t he mount in combat. While the m ount is
within 1 mile of you, you can communicate with it tele -
pa thically. While m ounted o n it, you can make a ny sp ell
you cast that ta rgets o nly you also target t he mount.
T h e m ount disappears temporarily whe n it drops to^0
hit points or w he n you d is miss it as a n acti on. Casting
this sp ell a ga in re-summons the bonde d mount, wit h all
its hit po ints restore d and a ny condit io ns remove d.
You can't have more tha n one mount bonde d by this
s pell o r find steed at the same time. As a n ac ti on , you
can re lease a mount fro m its b ond, caus ing it to disap-
pear p erma ne ntly.
Whe neve r the mount disappears , it leaves be hind a ny
objects it was wearing or carrying.

You touch a quiver containing arrows o r bolts. Whe n a

ammunitio n drawn from the qu iver, t he target ta kes a n
extra ld6 fire damage. The spell's magic ends on a piece
of ammunition when it hits or misses, a nd the spell e nds
w he n twelve pieces of ammun ition have bee n drawn
fro m the quiver.
At Higher Levels. When you cast t hi s sp ell us ing a
s pell s lot of 4th level o r hig her, the numbe r of pieces o f
ammunitio n you can affect with th is spell increases by
two for each s lot level above 3rd.
