HE SOCIETY OF International Nature and Wildlife
Photographers has revealed the winners of its first ever
Natural World Photography Competition, sponsored by DxO.
The contest, open to enthusiasts as well as professional
photographers, drew in entries from around the world. The
first place winner was Prince Eleazer from Pennsylvania, USA, for his
image entitled 'On The Edge', showing the path left by an Onyx
Gazelle. Prince's prize package includes a 12-month membership to
The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers
(SINWP) organisation and a copy of DxO PhotoLab 2 EL ITE Edition
software, worth £159. Phil Jones, the Societies CEO commented:
“The winning image was chosen due to it's strong geometric shapes,
which focuses the viewer on the narrative, creating a pleasing and
interesting composition making it a truly worthy winner". Second
place was awarded to Kutub Uddin from West Sussex for his images
called 'Teamwork' that shows ants working together on their next
family meal. The third place award went to Andy Howe from
Bedfordshire for his image of a baby gorilla being cuddled.
The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers is
also currently running the Bird Photographer of the Year 2019
Competition, which runs until 30 September 2019. Prizes worth over
£1,000 are up for grabs and donations (£1 minimum) from entrants
will help raise funds for The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
