Remember that:



  • The F clef begins on the fourth line and curves around like a backwards C.

  • Two dots are placed in the third and fourth spaces.

  • The F clef gives the fourth line its name: F.

  • The letters of the alphabet will be written ascending beginning with the bottom line: GABCDEFG
    etc.


Exercise 19


Draw a bass clefand the descendingnotes on the staff from the middle C ledger linedown to the first line (G).
Use whole notes ( ). Write the letter names below each note.

Study the names of the lines and spaces in the F clef.
Letter names of thelines:


The names of the five lines of the bass clef can be remembered by the mnemonic: “Good Boys DoFine Always.”
The ledger line above the staff is middle C.
Letter names of thespaces:


Amnemonic for these space notes is: “All Cows Eat Grass.”
