hùshi 护士 N nurse ■ 护士按照医生的嘱咐给病人 吃药。Hùshi ànzhào yīshēng de zhǔfu gěi bìngrén
chī yào. Nurses administer medicine to patients according to doctors’ instructions.
NOTE: In China nurses are almost exclusively women. To address a nurse politely, use 护士小姐 hùshì
xiǎojiě, e.g. ■ 护士小姐,我还需要吃这个药 吗? Hùshì xiǎojiě, wǒ hái xūyào chī zhè ge yào ma? Nurse, do I still need
to take this medicine? or you can put her family name before 护士 hùshì, e.g. 张护 士 Zhāng hùshì, 李护士 Lǐ
hùshì.
