NOTE: 请 qǐng is used to start a polite request, equivalent to Please ..., e.g. ■ 请您别在这里吸烟。Qíng nín bié
zài zhèli xīyān. Please don’t smoke here. ■ 请坐! Qǐng zuò! Sit down, please! ■ 请喝茶!Qǐng hē chá. Have
some tea, please!
