of the Mare Nubium, is
60 km (37 miles) in diameter.
It is interrupted by a smaller
crater, Thebit A, which is in
turn broken by the smaller
Thebit F – demonstrating
the usual arrangement
of lunar cratering. To the
left of Thebit is the fault
misnamed the Straight Wall;
to the left of the Wall is the
well-formed, 18-km (11-mile)
crater Birt, associated with a
rill which ends in a craterlet.
