Hades Carrying Off Persephone In His Chariot. Painting of the second half of fourth century B.C., on the wall of the small
tomb within the great tumulus at Vergina (the Macedonian Aegae), which also covered the famous tomb of Philip II,
discovered in 1977. The colours are red, yellow, violet, brown, orange (in Hades' hair). A very rare example of original
Classical painting of high quality.
