CHAMPIONSHIP

The first European University Championship was organised

by the University Sports Federation of Serbia and Montene-

gro in the cities of Užice and Vrbas in September 2001. Alto-

gether 14 men and women teams from 9 European countries

participated in the Championship, held on a high quality

level. At the end the gold medals stayed in the host country,

after the University of Novi Sad won against the University

of Athens in men’s tournament and University of Užice won

against Commenius University of Bratislava in women’s tour-

nament. Both matches were played in front of full audience

and finished with 3:0.
