The Executive Committee met on four meetings held in Ed-
inburgh, Tartu, Pontresina and Athens. The board members
among others decided to add two new sports to the program
of the European University Championships for the upcoming
year. ‘Gaudeamus Igitur’ was agreed to be adopted as the an-

tem of ranking countries to recognise the participation and
results of participants to the EUSA Championships. Technical
Delegates for Football and Tennis were appointed.
The Executive Committee decided to organise a one day con-
ference to be held annually before the General Assembly.
This seminar would be intended for all the participants, but
in time to offer parallel sessions targeted at the political del-
egates and the senior officers of the national administration.
First such seminar with the topics Voluntarism in Sport was
held on December 5, 2002 in Nafplion, Greece. Several prac-
tices of voluntarism in major sport events and organisations
were presented to the participants.
A day after, the 4th General Assembly was organised in this
coastal city by the Greek University Sports Federation. Spain
joined EUSA as the 35th member federation. The Assembly
chaired by Mr. Ulf Öhrman from Sweden approved the an-
nual report and activity plan and among other decided also
to establish a Student Commission in order to enhance the
participation of students.
