7 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
After five years the European Universities Football Champi-
onship returned to Wroclaw, Poland as AZS Wroclaw and
AZS Poland organised the 7th European Universities Football
Championship. 14 men and 7 women university teams from
13 countries took part on the event organised from July 20
to 26, 2009. In the men competition the title of the cham-
pion went to the Pedagogical Academy from Ternopil after
winning in the finals with 1:0 the Ivano-Frankivsk University
of Oil and Gas. In women event the winners became the
students from the Autonomus University of Madrid which
defeated in exciting final match the University of Montpellier
with 4:3. At the closing ceremony the EUSA flag was passed
to Warszaw, Poland which was attributed to be the host of
the next Championship in 2010.
