1 st EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The first edition of the European Universities Golf Champi-
onships was held in Algarve, Portugal from September 2 to 6,

2009. The event was organised by the Portuguese University
      Sport Federation and the University of Algarve Student As-
      sociation with the support of the University of the Algarve,
      Portuguese Golf Federation and local municipalities. 69 par-
      ticipants from 14 European University Teams participated in
      the championship played at the Algarve Golf Course. The
      tournament was dominated by the universities and students
      from Ireland, who won after four competition days all the
      medals in the Team Event. EUSA decided that the European
      Universities Golf Championships will be held every two years
      with the next edition in Otočec, Slovenia in 2011.
