4 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Cordoba hosted the 4th European Universities Karate Champi-
onship between July 16 and 19, 2009. 122 male and 71 fe-
male students from 13 countries participated, with 64 men’s
teams and 45 women’s teams. Open and closing ceremonies
were held at Vista Alegre Stadium. The championship was
organised on high level and the most successful university
at this championship was the Spanish University of Las Pal-
mas de Gran Canaria, winning three gold medals and one
silver. Apart from the competitions, participants also enjoyed
sightseeing, special dinner and parties. European Universities
