5.1 Mean
Here you’ll learn the definition of the mean of a set of numerical data and how to compute the mean of a given set
of data as it applies to real-world situations.
Your uncle is thinking of putting his house up for sale. He asks you to do some research to find out what prices
home sold for in his neighborhood. You find some recent sold prices of $350,000; $475,000; $468,000; $550,000;
$378,000 and $389,000. If his house is comparable to the others in the list, what might be a good listing price for
his house? What would you recommend to him? What other factors might you consider before giving him advice?
