Another famous observational study in the United States is the Framingham Heart Study. Researchers have followed
the lives of people from the town of Framingham Massachusetts for 60 years, and the information gathered has led to
many of the current approaches to treating and preventing heart disease. This type of long-term observational study
in which the same group of subjects is observed for very long periods of time is also called alongitudinal study.
