Point Estimate
A single number, such as a single sample mean, that is used as a plausible value of the population mean. This
can also be another single value that represents a population parameter.

Population Proportion
A fraction of the population that possesses a certain characteristic or probability of an event occurring. The
characteristic or event is called a success.

Sample Proportion
The ratio of successesxto sample sizen.
