Elevenyuan-tipurebloodsandadoppelgangerdisguisedas
apurebloodcomprisetheharem.Twoyuan-tibroodguards
(seeappendixD)watchovertheharematallhours.
RasNsiusedtospendmuchofhistimehere,samplingthe
harem’sdelights.Sincethedeathcursetookholdofhim,he
hascloisteredhimselfelsewhere.Thepurebloodsneitherhelp
norhinderthecharacters,andtheyfearRasNsienoughnotto
betrayhimwillingly.DespiteRasNsi’seffortstohidethe
effectsofthedeathcurse,theconcubinesknowthatheissick
anddying.
RasNsi’syuan-tichampion,Sekelok(area 11 ),isfascinated
bytheconcubineNeemaandcourtsdisasterbyvisitingherin
thedeadofnight.Neemabrowbeatstheotherconcubinesto
coverupheraffair.

DoppelgangerSpy

Thedoppelgangerinfiltratedthetemplebykillingand
assumingtheformofamaleyuan-tipurebloodnamed
Ishmakahl(pronouncedISH-mah-kawl).Ithasbeensentby
Zagmira,aRedWizard,tospyonRasNsi.Unfortunatelyforits
employers,thedoppelgangerhashadlittlecontactwithRas
Nsisincearrivingatthefane;however,ithaslearnedafew
thingsbyeavesdroppingonSekelokandNeema’sintimate
conversations.
IshmakahlappearsasahandsomeChultanmanwitheyes
likeasnake’s.Ifthecharactersmakecontactwiththe
doppelgangeronbehalfoftheRedWizards,itofferstohelp
themstealanypuzzlecubesfromRasNsi’slair(area 12 ).
Ishmakahlknowsthelayoutofthetempleandknowsthere’sa
secretdoorsomewhereinthethroneroom(area 11 )that
leadstoRasNsi’slair.ThedoppelgangeralsoknowsthatRas
Nsi’slaircanbereachedviathefane’steleporters,thoughit
doesn’tknowhowtoactivatethem.Itadvisesthecharactersto
breakintothelairwhenSekeloknextvisitstheharem.
Ishmakahlissecretlycontemplatingadefectiontothe
yuan-ti.Ifitsplanshowsanysignsofbackfiring,the
doppelgangerrevealsitselftoRasNsiorSekelok,andwarns
himabouttheintruders.

Teleporter

Theeasternboothcontainsanalcove,setintothefloorof
whichisafaintlyglowingstonediskengravedwitha
serpentinesymbol.ThisisoneofRasNsi’smagicteleporters
(see“Teleporters").
