inthemiddleofthefloor.Onthewallbehindthe
sarcophagus,twolargestatuesofbearsgripafive-foot-
diameterbronzediskembossedwithadozenglaring
eyes.Sixdesiccatedcorpsesslumponthronesinniches
alongthewalls.Eachcorpsewearsablackmaskmade
ofpapier-mâchéandfeathers.Anarchedcrystalwindow
totheeastoffersaviewofthetunnelbeyond.

Thecorpsesslumpedonthethronesaresixdormant
wights.Iftheeyesonthebronzediskspotintrudersinthe
tomb(see“DiskofEyes”),thewightsriseandattack.The
wightsalsoattackifoneormoreofthemtakesanydamage.
Theywon’tleavethechambertopursueintruders.Onceall
intrudersaredeadorgone,thewightsreturntotheirthrones
andfalldormantoncemore.

DiskofEyes


Anycharacterwhostudiesthedisknoticesthatitseyesare
moving,theirbronzedpupilsflickingbackandforthtoscan
thetombforintruders.Theseeyeshavedarkvisionouttoa
rangeof 30 feet.Iftheeyesspotanyhumanoidsinsidethe
tomb,thewightsawakenandattack.Thediskofeyescan’t
perceiveanyhumanoidthatdonsoneofthepapier-mâché
maskswornbythewights,norcanitseeinmagicaldarkness
orwhilecoveredwithablanketorsimilarobject.
Thebronzediskweighs 250 pounds.Thebearstatuesgrip
thedisktightlyintheirstonepaws,sothatitcan’tbepried
freewithoutsmashingthestatues.EachstatueisaLarge
objectwithAC 17 ; 45 hitpoints;immunitytobludgeoning,
piercing,andslashingdamagefromnonmagicalattacks;and
immunitytopoisonandpsychicdamage.Adetectmagicspell

tothenorthandtheothertothesouth.Thesecretdoortothe
southhasedgesmadeofflint.Openingthisdoorcreates
sparksthatignitetheodorlessgasinarea 11 (seethatareafor
details).
