Thehalfwaypointofthecircularcorridor,directly“opposite”
theintersection,isaninvisibleplanargatethatcannotbe
detectedwithmagic.Anycreaturepassingthroughthisgate
emergesintoaparallelreality.Characterswhowalkthelength
ofthecircularcorridornoticethatDevlin’sbodyisnolonger
present—norareanycompanionswhowaitedbehindfor
them.Iftheystepbackthroughthegate,theyreturntotheir
ownworld.
Totesthistraps,Acererakcrafteda"mirrortomb"andhid
itinsideademiplane.Thismirrortombisidenticaltothereal
tombasitstoodexactlyoneyearago.Allobjectsandcreatures
encounteredinthemirrortombappearreal,buttheyfade
awayiftakentotherealworld.Themirrortombhasthesame
magicaldefensesasthetruetomb,andanycharacterwhodies
inthedemiplaneistrappedbytheSoulmonger.
Eachdawn,Acererak’smagicreplacesthemirrortomb
withafreshfabrication.Slainmonstersreappearintheir
originallocations,andmovedobjectsteleportbacktowhere
theywerefound.Whenthisoccurs,charactersinsidethe
mirrortombwitnessastrangedistortionripplethroughthe
air.
