Phandelvercontains an assortment of magicitemsthat
hints at the widervariety of magic itemswaiting to be
foundin the worldsof D&D.See the Dungeon Master's
Guidefor manymoreitems.

Usinga MagicItem

A magicitem's description explains howthe itemworks.
Handling a magic itemis enough to givea character a
sense that something is extraordinary about the item.
Casting the identify spellon the itemthen reveals its
properties. Alternatively, a character canconcentrate
on the itemduring a short rest,while being in physical
contact with the item.At the endof the rest,the character
learns the item'sproperties. Potions are an exception;a
littletasteis enough to tell the tasterwhatthe potiondoes.
Certain magic itemsrequire a user to attune to them
before theirmagical properties canbe used.Attuning
to a magicitemrequires thatyouspend a short rest
concentrating on it (thiscan'tbe the sameshort rest
usedto learn an item'sproperties). Depending on the
nature of the item,this concentration cantake the formof
prayers, weapon practice, or meditation. In any case, the
concentration period mustbe uninterrupted. Onceyouare
attuned to an item,youcanuseits magical properties.
An itemcanbe attunedto onlyonecreature at a time.A
creature canbe attuned to no morethan three magicitems
at anygiventime,andyoucanattune yourself to onlyone
itemduring a short rest.
Yourattunement to an itemendswhen the itemhasbeen
more than 100 feetawayfromyoufor 24 hoursandwhen
youdie.Youcanalsovoluntarily endyourattunement to
an itemwith another short rest.

ItemDescriptions

+1 ARMOR
Themostbasicformof magicarmor is a superbproduct
of physical andmagical craft.Youhavea +1 bonusto your
Armor Classwhilewearing thisarmor.
A suitof +1 armor neverrusts or deteriorates, andit
magically resizes to fit its wearer.

+1 WEAPON
Magicweapons are unmistakablyfinerin quality than
theirordinary counterparts. Youhavea +1 bonusto the
attack rollsanddamage rollsyoumake withthisweapon.
Some +1 weapons (swords in particular) haveadditional
properties, suchas shedding light.

BOOTS OFSTRIDING AND SPRINGING
Yourspeed whileyouwear these bootsbecomes 30 feet,
unless yourwalking speed is higher,andyourspeed is not
reduced if youare encumberedor wearing heavyarmor.
In addition, whenever you jump,youcan jumpthree times
the normal distance.

GAUNTLETS OFOGRE POWER
Whileyouwear these gauntlets, yourStrength becomes

POTION OFFLYING
This potion givesyoua flyingspeed equalto yourwalking
