Here’s how you should proceed based on your Diagnostic Test score.

6: Superb! You’re already good enough with functions for the Math 2 test. If you’re taking a
“shortcut,” you might consider skipping this chapter. Or you could just go straight to the Follow-Up
Test at the end of the chapter.

4–5: Good. You’re probably already good enough with functions for the Math 2 test. If you’re taking
a “shortcut,” you might consider skipping this chapter. But you should at least look at the parts of
this chapter that discuss the one or two questions you did not get right. Then, if you have time, you
could move on to the Follow-Up Test at the end of the chapter.

0–3: Functions may be a problem area for you, so you’d better spend some time with this chapter.
