Imaginary numbers: To answer an imaginary numbers question like this, you have to know how to
use your i’s. When you’re adding or subtracting, i’s act a lot like variables:


But when you’re multiplying, or raising to a power, don’t forget to take that extra step of changing i^2
to –1:

A   number  in  the form    a   +   bi, where   a   and b   are real    numbers,    is  called  a   complex number.
