For instance, Fiona Baker
herself came up with the
concept for the fantasy
dragon that she designed
on page 28. It’s made up of swirling backstitch
lines that are meant to look like quilled paper!
Here’s another novel idea – stitchy hoop art that
also functions as a pocket! That’s the thought
behind our camping-themed hoops on page- And another – four of the world’s cities lit up
against a dark sky, as seen in Cheryl McKinnon’s
chic night-time cityscapes on page 42. And then
there’s my favourite, Emma Congdon’s pretty
mermaid alphabet on page 49, which turns the
letters themselves into mermaids. We hope this
issue inspires you to try something new, stitchers!
