Canon RF 85mm

f/1.2L USM

Prime lens for the R and RP

T

he first of six dedicated lenses for
Canon’s EOS R full-frame mirrorless
system to arrive in 2019 has just
landed. The RF 85mm f/1.2L
USM captures 50% more light
than rival 85mm f/1.4 lenses,
and Canon claims the optical
design of the new lens will
produce the highest
resolution so far. This glass
doesn’t come cheap, though,
and a lens hood will cost extra.
